I’m Anna Dao, author of Finding Lalla's Anna a captivating memoir of cultural identity, family, and the unwavering strength of love. It's a poignant exploration of belonging, self-discovery, and the power of ancestral wisdom to heal even the deepest wounds.
My love of storytelling was passed on to me by my grandmother Lalla. From the day I came into the world to the time of her transition to the after life, my grandmother told me stories. Stories to tell me about her life. Lalla and the elders used storytelling to teach me about our ancestral traditions. Storytelling was used to tell tales with morals that taught us the consequences of good and bad deeds.
